Not Wanted on the Voyage was a book I had certain expectaitions related to due to the adaptaion Fidley has done from the Bible. This obviosly affected my view of a variety of actions and characters, and towards the end I reached a point where my personal understanding and interpretation of the novel suddenly was based upon Fidley's story, not that of the Bible. This was indeed a very exciting discovery for me. Not Wanted on the Voyage is a wonderful book!
