Please: Shut Up

Just why people pay up to $100 or more per seat to attend a concert, only to talk throughout it, is a mystery. Indeed it is. (via)

While dear Mr. Gould had different reasons for ending his concert career one can only imagine what Glenn would have to say about the kind of activity you comment on.

I cannot afford regular or even semi-regular live concerts but when I do save and fork out the dough it is because I honestly want to *hear* the music, live.

Last year I took my wife to a symphony concert. It was a big event for us. When, for the third time I spoke to someone nearby asking them to please, be quite, it was clearly I who was perceived as being rude. And not only by the offender I spoke to but by another patron who addressed me saying, "If you don't want to be here, leave."
